Report from Isabelita Manalastas (Global100 '13) on Typhoon Fundraising in Japan:
Just as an information on what is going on in Tokyo to help Yolanda typhoon victims:
  1. Simbang Gabi started on Dec. 15, 2013 at St. Anselm's Catholic Church in Tokyo, and will end on Dec. 23;
  2. All collections during the mass will be for the benefit of the typhoon victims;
  3. Other churches have a second collection during Sunday masses, and proceeds for these will go to the typhoon victims;
  4. Various Filipino community organizations here are also raising funds.  The Association of Filipino Students in Japan has, so far, already raised almost a million yen (almost US$10,000).  I do not have information on the amounts raised by other community organizations;
  5. My company is offering gratis remittance charge, for remittances that will be sent to the ABS-CBN Sagip Kapamilya A/C;
  6. Many ordinary Japanese people, and many Japanese companies are also offering various help, monetary and otherwise.

Women in Solidarity: REBUILD Tacloban Philippines for Filipina Women & Girls (after Typhoon Yolanda) - Jan. 23, 2014 @ Credo

Please join FWN at a fundraising reception to help REBUILD Tacloban Philippines hosted by Bay Area Women's Groups in Solidarity with Filipina Women and Girls.

We need your help to get their jobs back as businesses have been severely damaged and we have to find a way for these families to have a source of income. Our hearts go out to the Women of Candahug, the "Village of Widows" - the husbands, fathers, and sons stayed behind while the women and children escaped to higher group when Typhoon Haiyan swooped in at 200mph, surging the waves as high as 16 ft.

Your contribution and 100% of proceeds will support the long-term rebuilding efforts through the help of Feed the Hungry Philippines - their volunteers and staff are now on-the-ground doing relief work.

RSVP Now! -  https://WomenForTacloban.eventbrite.com
