CONNECTING WITH YOUR PINAY ROOTS

As you should already know, it is Filipino-American Heritage Month! But do you know how October became the official month to celebrate our Filipino roots?
The lovely month of October, when the leaves start to turn from vivid green to the warmer shades of yellow, orange, and red, was initially established by the Filipino American National History Society (FANHS) in 1992. But in the year 2009, a law was passed officially recognizing October as Filipino-American Heritage Month.
Fascinated and want to read more? Check out FANHS's website by clicking here!
I hope you checked out the "Events & Meetings" section of this issue for upcoming events in honor of Filipino roots!
