The Bayanihan Dance Company Returns to New York for Special Performance
New York City - At the invitation of the newly launched US-Philippines Society in Washington, D.C., the world-renowned Bayanihan, the national dance company of the Philippines, comes to the Jazz at Lincoln Center's Frederick P. CONNECTING WITH YOUR PINAY ROOTS
As you should already know, it is Filipino-American Heritage Month! But do you know how October became the official month to celebrate our Filipino roots?
The lovely month of October, when the leaves start to turn from vivid green to the warmer shades of yellow, orange, and red, was initially established by the Filipino American National History Society (FANHS) in 1992. But in the year 2009, a law was passed officially recognizing October as Filipino-American Heritage Month.
