Filipina Summit 2009 Steering Committee

• The Steering Committee will be doing the pre-planning work to convene the Filipina Leadership Summit.
• Ideally, each committee member should represent one of FWN's identified stakeholder groups and chair a Summit Task Force.  This makes it easier to identify other stakeholders for the Summit.
• A stakeholder is a person who:
  • May be affected by the outcome of the Filipina Leadership Summit.
  • Might have an impact on the task/issue, be able to move it forward or hold it back.
  • Has resources that might be available to support the outcome.
  • Has information that will be important to the task/issue that will be undertaken in the success of the Filipina Leadership Summit.
• The Committee will identify and invite a broad cross-section of issues important to Filipina women and the stakholders critical to the success of the Filipina Leadership Summit.  (If we don't assemble an unusual group, one that makes us a little anxious and excited, it's probably not the ideal group.)  The Filipina Leadership Summit should be an event different from the usual.
• Our goal is to have a minimum of two representatives from each stakeholder group represented (maximum of 26 stakeholder members) aside from sponsors and other interested parties.
• FWN's identified stakeholder groups are:
  1. Fortune 1000 Organizations That Have Large Filipino Employee Populations: Representatitves from the Diversity, Human Resources, Organizational Development Departments
  2. Youth Leaders and Young Filipino Professionals
  3. Government Leaders and Elected Officials - U. S. and the Philippines
  4. Filipino Associations - Board Members
  5. Learning Institutions
  6. Media and Labor Sectors
  7. Public & Private Funders & Lenders
  8. Community Leaders
  9. Business Owners, Chambers & Trade Groups
  10. Faith-based Organizations
  11. Nonprofit Organizations
  12. Overseas Professional Filipina Workers in the U.S. (OFWs)
  13. New U.S. citizens
